The goal of the Community Involvement Team at GCC is to provide serving opportunities that will connect people from our church to others in the community and help meet un-met needs. It is our prayer that as you serve together you will demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ, thereby connecting others to Jesus. We desire not to replicate ministries already located in our community but instead come along side existing ministries that are effectively meeting needs and support them by providing financial and volunteer resources.
On-going community involvement opportunities:
Habitat for Humanity: As a non-profit organization we are always in need of good people willing to help. Our affiliate is all volunteer, so our reliance on the community becomes increasingly important as we strive to eliminate substandard housing in our community. Volunteers are needed every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday to work on the construction of new homes. For more information, contact (727)-859-9038 or email.
JFJ Ministries needs volunteer to assist with “The Way” program which are offered on facility grounds to incarcerated youth. All outreach programs are run by local community church volunteers who join and are trained under the J.F.J. Ministry structure. Some of the programs currently offered to youth are: Weekly Bible Study, Monthly church services and meal, life skills, pen pal and mentor programs and recreation. For more information contact Cindy at 727-230-1674.

S.O.S: Stands for ‘Serve on Saturday’ and is a quarterly event where we pull several serving opportunities together on the same day to make a big impact on our community. There are multiple opportunities to serve with different organizations throughout our community. S.O.S will be held on the following dates: Feb 21, Apr 25, Aug 8, and Nov 7 (2009).
