Salt and Light

Weekends in February

Jesus calls us to be the salt and light of the world. Salt is distinctive. It produces thirst, acts as a preservative, and is vital to life. Light penetrates darkness and activates key ingredients in the act of cooking. If we think of salt and light as key ingredients in the recipe for God's Kingdom, we must think of His laws as instructions for fulfillment. Together, these elements create codes to live by and commands to follow in order to be the salt and light of the world.
