Take Stock in Children

Take Stock in Children in Pasco County is a non-for-profit organization that works in partnership with the Pasco Education Foundation to provide scholarships, mentors, and hope to high school students. Their vision and mission is to provide a solution for economically-disadvantaged students to break the cycle of poverty through education. When students are accepted into the program, their agreement states they must maintain good grades, attendance, demonstrate good behavior and meet with a mentor on a regular basis. That's where they need YOU!

The goal of a mentor, other than being a trusted guide and friend, is to help prepare them for college and career. Students range from 9th grade to 12th grade, and mentors meet with students 2-4 times each month on the school campus (normally during lunch time).
· If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please fill out the application here
· Further information about Take Stock in Children & its mentor program along with resources can be found at:
Currently, we have 33 new students in West Pasco County that are in need of mentors. Please contact me by phone or email and/or fill our online application if you would be willing to mentor one of our deserving students.

Pasco County Elderly Nutrition Program

The Pasco County Elderly Nutrition Program provides nutritious meals and senior services to the food insecure seniors of our county, however they only reach 8% of that needy population. With more volunteers and by creating more community partners, they will be able to serve more hungry seniors.

Will you consider giving just a minimum of one (1) day a week for two to three (2-3) hours of your time to deliver meals to the most vulnerable elders in our community? Several other volunteer positions are available and listed below:

  • Kitchen Aides – sort and package meals for delivery; serve food at an Elderly Nutrition Dining Site, clean-up.
  • Home Delivery Drivers – deliver meals from any one of the eight Nutrition Dining Sites located throughout Pasco County. Mileage reimbursement is available from the County. A valid Florida driver’s license and Level II background check are required.
  • Clerical Assistants – greet visitors, answer the telephone, make copies, basic computer/typing skills, filing.
